Hotmart, a global leader in the digital products market, announced on Friday, 22, that it has decided to pivot to remote work permanently. The work model applies to Hotmart's headquarters in the Netherlands and offices in Brazil, Spain, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, and France. Hotmart's also offering 400 job vacancies for developers. 

The initiative came during a period of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the decision to change the company's work model. All employees will be able to work from home and until the end of 2021, the company's mandatory internal events will be hosted online. For the coming years, the idea is that the company's offices are open and available, but there'll be no obligation for employees to work in these spaces every day. "The world has changed, and remote work will be something permanent for most companies. We're doubling down on our Freedom pillar. Our idea is to create offices so incredible, that even if you're not required to go, many of you will choose to be there, close to each other. But this will not be an imposition of the company," says João Pedro Resende, CEO, and cofounder of Hotmart. 

There should be a lot of new hires from now on, and if the new employee lives in a state or country that does not have a Hotmart office, that person will be allocated to the nearest office for logistics purposes. With more flexibility and autonomy, the company expects to continue attracting the best talent and expanding its competitive advantage in the market. 

For João Pedro Resende, working closely, side by side, with other people, brings forth immeasurable benefits when it comes to learning speed, creativity, building trust, empathy, and friendship, but he doesn't believe that forcing this connection through a geographical limitation is the best way.
